Cecy Loftus

Born in 1876 and died in 1943. Cecilia (Cissie or Cissy) Loftus was born in Glasgow on October 22, 1876. Her father, Ben Brown, was part of the successful variety group, Brown, Newland & Le Clerc. Her mother, Marie Loftus became a star of burlesque, billed as "The Sarah Bernhardt of the Halls"

Cissy Loftus worked successfully in both the variety and legitimate theatre.
